Emily Butterfield
8th grade Science Teacher, Bearden Middle IB World School

Emily Butterfield is an 8th grade Science teacher at an IB World School in Knoxville, Tennessee. She has been teaching for 16 years and leads a Personalized Learning demonstration classroom. Emily earned a certificate in Design Thinking from MIT and uses creative problem solving as a foundation in her classroom instruction. Emily is dedicated to helping her students see themselves in STEM fields and was recently published in American Entomologist featuring a diversity in STEM poster series she created. Emily serves as a Master Teacher for ORAU writing curriculum, teaching at STEM camps, and leading professional development sessions.
