OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—Oak Ridge Associated Universities received the 2012 Award of Excellence from the Tennessee Division of the International Association of Administrative Professionals during the division’s annual meeting awards banquet held recently in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The award is presented annually to an organization that demonstrates quality support for secretaries, administrative or executive assistants and related office professionals. Nominations were made by the 17 chapters across the Tennessee division. This is the second time ORAU has received this recognition from this organization; the first time was in 2008. In 2010, ORAU also won the Award for Excellence at IAAP’s international level.
“We are truly honored to win this recognition from IAAP,” said ORAU president and CEO Andy Page. “This award is a testament to the commitment of our administrative professionals who help us achieve excellence every day and help make ORAU a great place to work.”
The award application was prepared and submitted by Brenda Lee-Longmire, an IAAP-certified administrative professional-organizational management at ORAU. Lee-Longmire, a former IAAP Oak Ridge Chapter president, served as editor for the IAAP Oak Ridge Chapter newsletter, which also received top honors in the Tennessee division newsletter competition.
