Multiple Contracting Methods Allow ORAU to Customize Science Education Programs for Diverse Range of Clients

As our nation’s workforce ages, and it also becomes increasingly difficult to attract students into scientific and technical fields, creating a pool of talent from which to develop future science and technology leaders becomes critical. That’s what we do—serve education needs at all levels from K-12 through faculty and postdoctoral researchers. We also provide needs assessment and recruitment services, as well as workforce analysis and program evaluation.

Contracting with ORAU

ORAU is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit enterprise that has been working with government agencies, universities, and corporate entities since 1946. We regularly team with a broad range of customers and partners to pursue opportunities of mutual interest. The following are ways in which you can establish a working relationship with us:

Direct contract with ORAU

Major Contract Vehicles
- Support of Collaborative Research Appointments for the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  
  Blanket purchase order 263-9999-00139B. All ordering activities of NIH.
  
  ORAU works with NIH to recruit candidates, process applications, facilitate the selection of participants, and make appointments to selected individuals to engage in ongoing research programs in designated NIH programs.

Work for Others agreement under ORAU’s contract to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
- Work performed for other agencies under this contract is subject to DOE approval, must adhere to the requirements of the Economy Act, must be consistent with or complement the missions of DOE and ORISE, and must not place ORISE in direct competition with the private sector.
