Employee Spotlight: Nathan Marc

Meet ORAU employee Nathan Marc! Nathan is an ORAU contractor working under the National Student Services Contract (NSSC) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). As a Budget Execution Support Specialist in Washington, DC, Nathan supports EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) and the Office of Research Management (ORM). Nathan's work with ORD and ORM provides administrative and support services for all employees of EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD). In addition, Nathan assists ORM budget execution staff in executing their duties by providing administrative and technical support for the full budget execution cycle.

Nathan is a newly hired contractor on the EPA National Student Services Contract. When asked why he chose this contract after earning his degree Nathan said, “I chose this contract with ORAU because it offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in federal financial practices. This role provides foundational financial acumen and a potential growth trajectory that aligns well with my career aspirations. I am confident that my background, skills, and commitment to learning federal financial practices will enable me to excel and continue to drive meaningful impact and value to the organization.” As a new contractor, Nathan is currently learning some of the databases he will use daily, such as IRMS, Compass Warehouse, SAP BI, and more.

When asked what his favorite part of working at EPA has been so far, Nathan said, “My favorite part of joining the EPA team has been the people that I have the pleasure of interacting with daily. Also being in a city and having the opportunity to enjoy it.”

Background

Nathan attended the Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University in New Jersey and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Business Analytics.

Fun Facts:  Nathan relocated from New Jersey to Washington, DC for the Budget Execution Support Specialist position at EPA. When Nathan is not working, he enjoys exploring DC, being spontaneous, and trying new things. Additionally, Nathan is an aspiring pilot!
