Radon Seed Shipping Container (1936)
This is a cardboard shipping container that was used in 1936 to send radon seeds from the Radium Chemical Company, Inc. ("successor to Radon Company, Inc.") at 1 East 42nd St. NYC, to the Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Boston.

The seeds were wrapped up in a sheet of lead foil that was positioned in the middle of the box by a spacer.

The certificate that came inside the package states that the shipment contained four "tiny gold implants for embedding" and that each one had an activity of 2 millicuries of radon at 11 AM Monday October 26, 1936.
