Radium Brand Butter Carton (ca. 1930s)
This is the unused carton/box for one pound of Radium Brand Creamery Butter. The text below the image to the right indicates that the copyright, granted in 1933, belonged to the Butler Paper Products Company of Toledo, Ohio. They produced the box.
As for the four sticks of butter that would go in the box, it would have been produced by the Nucla Creamery Company of Nucla, Colorado.
The Nucla Creamery Company, a manufacturer of butter and ice cream, had been in business at least since 1923. The 1923 Colorado Business Directory identified E.G. Chamberlain as the company president and Otto Arps as its secretary-treasurer and manager.
