Bendix Model 222 Binary Scaler (late 1940s)
I have almost no information about this Model 222 scaler (serial # 153) manufactured by the Pacific Division of Bendix Aviation in North Hollywood, California. Given the style of construction, it is likely to be of late 1940s vintage. For the time, it was relatively light. Much of the weight of these types of scalers is due to the large iron cores used in the high voltage power supply. You had to be careful when carrying these things—not only are they heavy, the weight wasn’t distributed uniformly.
Scale: 32
Size: 12" x 20" x 9"
High Voltage Supply: None
Weight: ca. 32 pounds
