Hackathons & Workshops
Multi-day, high-energy hackathons events offer a chance to learn about CFDE data and tools, as well as learn new skills through hands-on projects. From novice to expert-level, hackathons and workshops can provide skill development, good coding practices, leadership experience, and networking for personal and professional growth. Hackathons give the opportunity to use existing datasets to understand how to apply technical skills in practical, impactful ways. Other virtual and in-person workshops, such as skill-building workshops, are also available from the CFDE TC.

A cohort of 40 participants convened for the CFDE Open Source and FAIR Data Hackathon at the 6th Annual Bio-IT World Hackathon held in Boston, Mass. Teams tackled a broad range of challenges.
