General Laboratory
One of the first problems for Standard Chemical was the presence of radium-228 (mesothorium) in the radium sources that the lab produced. Their customers expected pure radium-226, and were very unhappy with some of the initial product. During the decommissioning of the Flannery building, some of the windowsills were found to be heavily contaminated—note the proximity of the lab bench to the window in the photo.
