Large Induction Coil
Learn more detailed information about induction coils.
The example shown above is relatively large—large enough to supply the high voltage for X-ray tubes. Although there is no identification on it, it was almost certainly built by the Thordarson Electrical Manufacturing Company. Probably sometime from 1910 to 1930.
It seems to be in very good shape, so it didn't see much use.

Size: The base is 12.5" x 18" while the coil is 6.5" in diameter and 8.5" long.
