Sight for LAW Rocket Launcher

This is a front sight for the U.S. Army's M72 Rocket Launcher. Better known as the LAW (Light Antitank Weapon), the M72 is fired once and disposed of. The LAW is approximately 35" long and weighs a little over 5 lbs. It fires a single 66 mm rocket with a high explosive antitank (HEAT) warhead that can penetrate approximately one foot of armor. The maximum effective range is approximately 200 meters.

The two white crosses on the sight (at the 100 and 150 meter marks) employ promethium-147 containing radioluminescent paint. After the LAW has been fired, the sight is removed and turned in to the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for disposal.
