Tracerlab Model SU-14 GM Survey Meter (1955-1960)

Quoting a product announcement in the January 1955 issue of Nucleonics, "has two G-M probes, one with side window and sliding shield for selective monitoring of medium-energy beta or gamma rays [P-17A], other with thin end window for low-energy beta or alpha particles [P-18A]. Meter has two sets of ranges—0.25-25 mr/hr and 500-60,000 cpm in multiples of 10. Time constant is automatically changed with scale range. Battery pack has 150 hr continuous life. Sensitivity drift is 0.05%/hr."

Quoting the Tracerlab Catalog: "This survey meter is especially helpful in the laboratory for checking hands, bench tops, coats, etc., for contamination, and in locating relatively small amounts of spilled radiochemicals. It is distinguished by an unusually stable circuit which has limited sensitivity drift to less than 0.05% per hour."

  • 0-0.25, 0-2.5, 0-25 mR/hr
  • 0-500, 0-5000, 0-50,000 cpm

Audio output: No speaker, does have headphone jack

Batteries: Four 1.5 volt D cells and three 45 volt batteries
