Welcome to the Appalachian STEM Academy – High School Student Site!

We are so excited for you to attend the Appalachian STEM Academy this summer. Approximately 40 students from throughout the Appalachian Region will participate in the Academy. You will be assigned to a small group of students who will experience authentic research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Throughout the two weeks, you will participate in several awesome recreational and cultural experiences. You can expect to make many new friends, improve your STEM research skills, and have an incredible time.

You will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, 114 Tulsa Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. You will be assigned a roommate when you arrive. You will not be given the opportunity to choose your roommate. However, you will complete the Student Information Form, which is an onboarding card in Zintellect, to allow us to find a compatible roommate. In most cases, participants from the same school are not assigned to the same room. There will be four resident teacher chaperones staying with you at the hotel.
