Karen’s expertise includes recruiting faster and smarter using agile acquisition strategies to attract quality candidates nationwide for EPA’s SSCA at the Office of Research and Development. She matches candidate skills with career launching opportunities in water research, chemical toxicology, environmental policy and communications. Building relationships while ensuring candidate and EPA project team success is what Karen does best!
Prior to working with the EPA SSCA, Karen represented ORAU while embedded with an ORAU project team on-site at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Responsibilities included: recruiting, coordinating relocation and immigration services, plus administering ORAU employer guidance to a cohort of more than 300 researchers from around the globe. She has experience working with other large-scale organizations, including Delta Airlines and the University of Tennessee.
Cleveland has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Karen holds a talent Acquisition Specialty Credential from SHRM and is SHRM certified in veteran recruiting. Her Bachelor’s degree is from Mount Mary University.
