Tonya A. Bernhardt, CHP
Operations ManagerTonya A. Bernhardt, CHP, is a certified health physicist leading ORAU’s Professional Training Programs in her role as operations manager. With more than 20 years of experience training international, federal, state and local professionals in radiation safety, Tonya develops and coordinates courses in all areas of health physics. During her career, she has participated in training development and exercises for the Global Radiation Threat Reduction Project co-managed by the DOE and INTERPOL and has participated in exercises with the Homeland Defense Equipment Reuse Program. Tonya began her career at ORAU as an Applied Health Physics Fellow with the U.S. Department of Energy. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering and a B.S. in Radiological Science, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
