Andrew Owens

Health Physicist and Instructor

Andrew Owens has been a health physicist with ORAU since 2016 and is currently a Professional Training Programs instructor. Duties include delivering lectures, setting up laboratory/field exercises, and supporting course development. He began his career with ORAU as part of the Independent Environmental Assessment and Verification program where he supported technical projects, conducted independent verification surveys, and gained experience using Non-Destructive Assay measurements techniques such as the HMS4 and Canberra ISOCS (gamma spectrometers) for in-situ measurements. Andrew holds an M.S. in Radiological Health Sciences from Colorado State University where he conducted research focusing on Monte Carlo simulations using MCNP6. He also holds a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
