Math & Movement (In-person Session)

Target Audience: K-5th Grade Teachers

Presenter: Jeramy Ezell, Assistant Principal, Lakeway Christian Academy

Wouldn’t it be great if all kids loved math?! Math & Movement is designed to keep kids feeling good about math. Kids learn more, retain more and gain valuable basic skills while exercising their bodies as well as their minds. Using simple techniques and fun exercises, the fundamentals of arithmetic and early algebra concepts can be introduced to children of all ages. The techniques have been used successfully with children as young as pre-school and as old as the high school years. The activities are fun for math learners and build on extensive brain research together with practical field testing. Develop Math and Movement Stations- use kinesthetic strategies to enhance learning specifically connected to the Common Core Math Standards.

This session is organized into two parts. The morning session will provide instruction on Math & Movement techniques. The afternoon will be spent guiding small student groups through these techniques.
