More than a Field Trip (In-person Session)

Classroom educators know about museums and other places of informal learning as field trip destinations, but these organizations offer so much more for K-12 educators. Jessica Ordóñez, Ed.S., education director at the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge, will present examples of services and resources provided by museums, zoos, aquariums, planetariums, and more—from teacher memberships and open houses, to lesson plans, traveling trunks, and professional development opportunities. Participants will receive hands-on experience with the museum’s At Home in Appalachia Traveling Trunk.
