Health Physics Statistics Online Training
Online continuing education course introduces the use of statistics in operational health physics
Introduction
The modern health physicist must be prepared to review, interpret, and analyze statistical data. The use of statistics and emphasis on risk-based decision-making has become more and more important to the radiation protection community.
The American Academy of Health Physics grants 40 Continuing Education Credits for completion of this course.
Course description
The Health Physics Statistics online training course introduces participants to the use of statistics in operational health physics. Core concepts such as probability distributions, descriptive statistics, and hypotheses testing are included to support more detailed instruction on uncertainty propagation and statistical tests.
A list of the modules included in the course is provided below along with instructions about the registration process. This course is the equivalent of taking the one-week, instructor-led course at the PTP training facility. PTP instructors will be available via email, phone, or Microsoft Teams to answer questions and provide assistance when needed.
Target audience
This course is designed for individuals with limited statistical knowledge and/or practical work experience who must analyze data sets and/or must oversee health physics projects.
Cost
$1,995 – Tuition includes access to the course materials via the ORAU Learning Management System (LMS).
