Minecraft Education – Introduction for Beginners

Session Format: Virtual

Target Audience: K-12th Grade Teachers

This session will introduce the basics of Minecraft Education and how it can be used in nearly any subject and at any grade level. We will explore how to navigate through the program, how to create worlds, suggested settings for the classroom, and how to utilize the library of premade lessons and classroom activities created by Minecraft Education.

It is strongly recommended that participants download the free trial of Minecraft Education. Note that the trial allows for 25 logins.

Howard Dale
Kingsport City Schools

As a seasoned elementary visual arts teacher with 23 years of experience in East Tennessee, Howard has dedicated his career to cultivating creativity and critical thinking in his students. He is a Google certified educator, a certified Canvas LMS educator, and certified in Microsoft Minecraft Education, leveraging gamification to engage students in learning. Howard serves as an educational technology teacher leader in Kingsport City Schools, providing technology-focused professional development opportunities in his district. As a member of TETA and the Instructional Learning Network steering committee, Howard collaborates with Tennessee educators statewide to advance innovative teaching practices. Outside of teaching and tech, Howard is an artist whose work can be seen in local galleries.
